I'm at a beginner level on the acoustic guitar, been playing for about a year. Going to buy an electric, quite fancy an Epiphone Casino or Sheraton II. Will obviously try them out first to see if I like the sound and feel. I into blues and classic rock stuff.
There both around the same price, any idea on the pros and cons of each model and if its a good guitar for a novice?

Cheers,

Dolphin

yes, feedback is an issue with casinos... but they sound better than sex. I stuff a tshirt inside the guitar and it usually remedies the problem. I would tell you to try them both out and let your ears decide.

Your crappy amp achieved a purposely crappy tone? I'll alert the presses.

I've also heard people stuffing them with foam or newspaper

I have stuffed hollow-bodies but it does deaden some of the treble and resonance you expect. If you are going to play a Casino loud you need an amp with a lot of headroom and you are not going to want much distortion. I had a Gibson 330 which was very similar. For my styles (blues/classic rock) it had too many feedback issues. Try them both but for me its a semihollow.
