I've had my GK Bass cabinet for awhile now, and I think the speakers are starting to go (the sound is getting a bit distorted). If the sound quality continues to decline, what kind of work can I expect to put in to fix the blown speaker(s)?

I've heard GKs have not-so-rare problems with speakers crapping out. I just don't mind the dirty work involved. What can I expect though? Is this as simple as taking the driver out, soldering a few wires, and placing the new one in?

no soldering (usually) its just a case of pulling the spade connectors off the terminals, and putting the new one in

how do those marshall handles compare tonewise to, say, mesa handles?

So it sounds like the hardest part will be finding the proper speakers and actually getting access to the current ones...

Thanks.
