Ok look at the gear list below

How do I get that really articulate metal shred sound from those like Bullet for my Valentine, A7x, and Shadows Fall without having to go out and buy new p/ups
Guitars:
Ibanez RG4EX1
Epiphone SG w/EMG's

Amps:
Peavey Windsor Head w/ JSX Cab
MicroCube (for the sake of practice at college)

Pedals :
Fulltone Full Drive 2 Mosfet
Digitech Whammy
Dunlop Crybaby

You won't with that amp. They all use very high-end gear.

So what? I wasted like 5 minutes watching DaddyTwoFoot's avatar.

Metalheads are the worst thing that ever happened to metal.

honestly, pickups are the least of your concerns. Those are usually reserved for tweaking your overall sound. Your amp is the glaring weakness for those kind of tones, unfortunately the most expensive part.

Pickups will change your sound very little, if any at all through that amp. Sell your amp and black 13 and buy a better amp, that's the only way you'll get a better sound (imo).

I've had tube amps for a while now, but never actually had any go down on me

maybe you're not saying the right things? an amp likes to know you care.

word.
I'm an idiot and I accidentally clicked the "Remove all subscriptions" button. If it seems like I'm ignoring you, I'm not, I'm just no longer subscribed to the thread. If you quote me or do the @user thing at me, hopefully it'll notify me through my notifications and I'll get back to you.

I'll have to put the Classic T models on my to-try list. Shame the finish options there are Anachronism Gold, Nuclear Waste and Aged Clown, because in principle the plaintop is right up my alley.

Presumably because the CCF (Combined Corksniffing Forces) of MLP and Gibson forums would rise up against them, plunging the land into war.

If you are on a budget, a Roland Microcube will give you a relativly close tone to those bands.

agreed. better than pickups will do, at any rate.
