if you want heavy tone get the emg 81/85 set and put the 81 in the bridge and the 85 in the neck. they will drive you valveking. if you need an extra boost use a boss sd-1!

I use Drop C a lot with my Schecter Hellraiser that has a 81/85 set. Sounds amazing.

Dimarzio Tone Zone in the bridge
Dimarzio FRED in the neck.

Sound great in Drop C, and they clean up well too. The treble and mids from them being shredder pickups clean out the sludge you can get with distortion at lower tunings.
