Option 1.

Carvin V3

and a G-Major plus undecided midi controller for effects.

Total Cost: around 1,550 + Shipping and Taxes (not including midi controller)

The advantage is greater control over effects, and midi switching amp channels could simply pedal dancing greatly.

Option 2.

Hughes and Kettner Switchblade

Total Cost: 1,600 + Shipping and Taxes

The advantage is having the abilty to virtually recall everything as if by a midi preamp.

I'm leaning towards Option 1, as I would much better control over effects and much of them.

What would you pick?

option 1 coz i play loud and ive blown tubes...tubes arent cheap
and if u get a combo with the effects already in it...when u get a new amp u cant take the effects from ur last amp...but if u hav it as an external thing...thats another story

Obviously with choice one your effects will be wider. and I would say better sounding!

But at the same time the Switchblade is a really amazing amp!

I say the Hughes & Kettner. Tube is definitely the way to go. If you blow your tubes, then I seriously don't know how you did that.

H&K...cause Alex Lifeson uses it. Nuff said.

*It's also a nice amp with a nice tone and cool effects built-in.
