when playing something like bellow, i have trouble making the NOT palm muted notes to stand out from the palm muted notes.

whats a good amp setting for this..
im using and epiphone sg
what pick up would be best for this?

I don't think you should be blaming your equipment, accent the un-palm muted notes yourself.

ye i dunno what tone is...
my amp doesnt have a tone knob..
it has knobs for.. low, mid, high, gain and volume

oh and on my guitar i have a tone knob for each of two pickups.... do u mean put that tone on 10

In that case high is probably the way to go for agressive palm mutes, some low too

you scooped your mids didn't you....DIDN'T YOU!!?!!?!!

Turn up the mids and treble a bit, and turn the low end down a bit. Should be much better.
