Hey...I'm a guitarist, but I'm looking to buy a bass just to mess around on and so I can write songs better.

I dont want anything over 200-250, any suggestions?

I can't imagine anything worse than shagging to Mark Knopfler.

Maybe shagging Mark Knopfler, but that's about it.

Ibanez or squire starter packs.

Both give fairly good basses for the price and will include a functioning bass amp. Don't forget gutiar amps will get destroyed by a bass.

Vintage Modified Squier Bass > Ibanez

Buy both pickups. Rub icyhot on both of them. Sandwich your penis between them and walk to the nearest homeless shelter with your brand new icyhot penis sandwich.

I have a ibanez too they work really well. I got one a year a go and I still love it.

I agree on the Vintage Modified Squier - I tested both and the squier wins hands down
