Hey all, i find that when i tighten my trem up to the max (i.e still falls away) there is considerable rattle which is audible when playing quietly. This goes away when u tighten it another turn-but is no good as doesnt fall away . I find loosening it several turns gives a better fit and less rattle (tho raises trem 1 cm or so which is little annoying when playing solos where u hold whammy throughout..but not end of world..) Normal or not??? Any suggestions??
Itsa MIA standard strat with standard trem btw. Ta!

say what? If your trem is coming out of the body, put in another spring...If something else is happening...then i have no idea what to do, because i have no idea what youre trying to say...

if you mean the you hear a rattle noise coming from your spring cavity, then thread cotton balls in the springs to quiet them.

if you mean something else, sorry, i missed what ure saying.

Nope its the tremolo unit! I mean when i use the whammy i can hear and feel a rattle - like dam thing dont fit right!! this is fairly minor thing-tho £700 guitars should be pretty perfect... just annnoys me! it doesnt fall out or anything..

What he appears to be saying is that the tremolo arm is rattling in it's hole, my advice would be to a get a new one that fits.

agreed. a new bar is easy enough to find. hopefully, the treads in the hole arent messed up.

if you yank and break it one day, and the threads in the hole smash or cross, the stump of the broken bar can get stuck in there.
