The headphones (or earbuds, w/e you call them) that came with my 2 year old ipod have finally gave out, so I need some new ones.

Any suggestions?

Grado labs SR80 is what i use in the studio and they are the best sound wise..but uncomfortable after long periods of use....(sound makes up for that though...)

For IEMs go with Shure

skullcandy isnt that much better than ipod headphones. They are all bass and muffled.

Best earbuds I've ever owned. Great bass and isolation, plus they are really comfortable.

Only $20 too, cheapest in the thread so far .

Philips SBC HS520

For $25, they're WELL worth the price.

I actually found mine on clearance for $12, but they're $25 MSRP.

They gave out on me recently, tough....

Still the best headphones I've found for the money. Good bass, clear sound. Just great.

*ahem*

go for some of them 300 dollar bose ones that destroy outside noise completely, then enswathe your head in a merciless barrage of great sound.

Def grado SR-80 or the SR-60 both freaking amazing headphones.

Ultimate.ears makes some good IEMs, so does Shure.

Btw, Bose headphones blow. Way too expensive and the sound quality is mediocre compared to what you can get cheaper.

You made it sound like they literally destroy noise, like other people can't hear anything when you use them.

Bose...you pay for the name

their headphones don't sound as good as Grado Labs which are cheaper.

Bose is advertised much more and overpriced which is the only reason everyone thinks they work so well...
