Im gonna go vissit a guitar center tommorow which i cannot do very often as i dont live anywhere near one. Anyway i'd appreciate if you could mention a couple of metal guitars within a prize range of 580$ or so. I like playing metallica 'n megadeth songs mostly.

My current gear's a Squier Affinity and a Roland Cube 30

It's got a lotto do with the amp also. I got one of those little Squire Strat packs and my new amp gets a good metal sound. I have a Vox AD15VT btw.

i like that jackson, but ibanez prestiges do surprisingly well (im not an ibanez fan) even though theyre way out of your price range. gibson makes fantastic guitars, and most of that "metal" tone comes from the amp and how you play

That Jackson is okay, although it doesn't really have an awesome trem or pickups.

I would recommend the S320 mainly because of the ZR trem which is very reliable. The pickups aren't super, but you can change them out in the future.

Btw, don't expect uber metal tone right away, your amp makes up most of your tone.

I got my AD15VT for $192 with tax. It's great...the sound is awesome...very metal-ish...I can get an audio/vid of it for you...

I have that same Jackson DXMG and I would really recommend it. The Licensed Floyd Rose is really good quality these days and Ive never had a single problem with it. The EMGs are nice if you dont want actives. I personally dont like ibanez(other than the higher up ones). An esp would be a really good choice too but I dont think guitar center carries esp so you wont get a chance to try it out there.

The Jackson DXMG is nice, but IMO its worth it to save a little more to get a DK2M or DK2 with Seymour Duncans
