Alright so I was just shuffling my songs yesterday on ipod while chillin in the backyard and two songs really hit me. "Let it Be" by The Beatles, and "Come Sail Away" by Styx. They're just two awesome and touching songs. First off can anyone recommend me some songs like those two where it starts off nice and slow, then the drum comes in and its just really powerful? Second off what songs really get to you guys?

Wow, I've been here for a while.

"Romeo and Juliet" by Dire Straits always gets me, how it starts off nice and simplistic and seems to build up, but then seems to resign itself towards the end.

The Court Of The Crimson King by King Crimson is pretty powerful in that "quiet/heavy" manner...

But a lot of Radiohead has a ton of emotional power. I often find myself wishing I could hear The Bends and OK Computer for the first time again, just to go through it all again.

Laid to Rest by The Showdown (in no way affiliated by LoG's laid to rest)

Starts off very slow and emotional....then BAM it turns into a huge metal song, and in the chorus at the end, they mix the two styles together to bring an amazing song to and end.

It a very religious song though, so I'm afraid you won't like it if you're satanic.

If it's religious, I'll just like it more. I think I'm the exact opposite of satanic lol But thanks

I second pretty much any coldplay and placebo for emotionally moving, but one song that I can't listen to because it does weird stuff to me is "House of the Rising Sun" by the Animals. If I hear it I have to run for cover! I can't explain it but it scares me more than anything in the world. Does anyone else have a phobia like this? Maybe I should start a thread...

All of these songs hit me pretty well.

man, there are so many, but recently a few I've been really digging would be these:

- Casting Such a Thin Shadow by Underoath, heavily instrumental but when it comes in full-force it's heart-wrenching

- Your Possible Pasts by Pink Floyd off The Final Cut album is another one I've been way into.

- Firth of Fifth by Genesis is sick and builds to a crazy guitar solo and instrumental deal

I could name way more, but just a few that came to mind...
