Ok so someone had the idea of a UG House Band. Well I'd like to extend on that a little, and try and organize a UG Blues Jam! My idea:

Let's pick a blues standard, Red House, or whatever else, and get as many guitarists together as we can. We'll get a drummer, bassist and singer to lay the song down, and then just have a mega jam with each guitarist getting one chance through the progression to solo.

We can do this with the free program Audicity, and it will probably turn out great! Just let me know if you want in. I'll say we should probably take 5 lead guitarists max, one bassist, one drummer, a couple singers, one rhythm guitarist, and someone who wants to mix. (I could do this, but I dont have the greatest software). So tell me if you want to sign up, and also let me know if you have any song suggestions!

The Band:

Bass: Sanctus Ignis
Drums: Sanctus Ignis
Rhythm Guitar: aetherspear
Piano: therussian
Organ/keyboards: Sanctus Ignis

Guitar 1: GD_GC
Guitar 2: Rock'n'Soul
Guitar 3: Meh!
Guitar 4: Matt921
Guitar 5: Deluxity

Vocals 1: GD_GC
Vocals 2: TBD
Vocals 3: TBD

Mixing: HawkaLuigi, Sanctus Ignis
Song: "Red House," by Jimi Hendrix

Recording has begun! Please sign up for the remaining slots!

Ill do guitar but I would need a walk though with Audicity. Fill me in please! I have to go and play a football game.

Peace out. I would like to see how this turns out

Edit: Red House sounds good , and I could do guitar if that's ok.

Is there a way I could just listen? If there was that'd be fantastic.

alright lets see, Hawka will mix, sinan90 (possibly) on bass, meh! playing some lead, and matt921 taking a solo as well. thanks for the support guys, id like to see this actually happen. Anyone interested in singing a verse? id like a different singer for all of the 3 verses, ill do one so we need 2 more.

yea you can do garage band as long as you save it and send it back to me or whoever is mixing in an mp3. I'll give some details on what the structure of the song is going to be soon, lets give it a little while longer to let people sign up.

Recording will be in this order:
Bass with a click track
Drums
Rhythm Guitar (will also do lead in intro if they want to)
Solo guitar jam thing (about 5 times through)
Vocals

Once every spot is filled, ill give the bassist the structure of the song, and we can get started!

Thanks for your support guys!

ok sorry for the double post but here we go: song layout so the bassist can start.

ill do a click track for the length of the song at a good tempo and send it to you in an auidicity file hopefully later tonite. Once you get it heres what you should do (assuming you've heard the song "Red House"):

Start off hitting the B's in the beginning as in the real song, and then come in on the IV to finish the 12 bars. Then play 8 more times through the 12 bar blues, and end as the song does, with a break in the music for the final, "I know her sister will" lyric. Try and get this back to me finished as soon as you can.

Also: WE NEED ONE MORE SOLOIST FOR GUITAR AND 2 MORE SINGERS! PLEASE sign up people! I really want this to work!

I could play a mean blues piano, if you'd like (though I guess piano and Jimi Hendrix don't really mesh)

piano! yes! o thank you so much, i didnt even think of that! that would add such a great element to this. Itll just be a slow blues 12 bars, so piano will go great with it! ill add you to the list, ill give you more info when its your turn to record
