What would be a good/the key and scale to solo in for the Can't Stop (Red Hot Chili Peppers) solo?

The band i play in is very bass orinted, to the point where the bass is almost the lead guitar, and we play very jammy improvised songs (even covers), even though I'm just starting to learn some theory (Which has helped). So guitar solos are really my only time to shine in some songs, and this seems to be one of them.

but the solo in cant stop is so short

We usually jam out solo's anyway, so the actual length of the record solo doesnt really matter.
