I've been playing for a year now, and I own an epi les paul, but I've noticed sumthin recently about my guitar. Whenever I hit the high E string, it makes the A string and low E string ring, giving me a lot of dissonance when soloing. If anyone has some advice on how to fix this please post. Thanks

string damping/muting. if you damp the strings you arent playing with your spare fingers you stop the unwanted strings ringing.

How is the A string ringing, are you hitting it or is the low E hitting it?

yea, i guess that's normal, but you should mute the strings you're not playing either with your fretting or picking hand, especially when you play with lots of gain...
