What do you guys think of the VW rabbit? Looking at my first car once I turn 16 in November. The 2 door Rabbit looks pretty good for a first car daily driver around the Bay Area

Anyone here driven a VW rabbit? I'd like some opinions please!

I like the Jetta better myself.

Aren't they the same price?

Isn't the 'rabbit' the other word for a Golf?
It's what I'm looking to get after a few years after my insurance has gone down- until then, oldschool car for me =].
They're pretty nice to drive imo.

the newer rabbits are less stable (ie: the suspension blows) and on the other hand, you can do massive drifts with them if set up properly. if you still seriously want a rabiit get a pre-2006 model year

hmmm..i might take a look into the new jetta, its the only sedan i like which actually looks cool, and i won't get laughed at haha

What's wrong with that?

No need to be a jerk. It'd be one thing if he wanted a Hummer, or a sports car.

But it's a low priced sedan with a 4-cylinder engine, grow up.

I would LOOOOOOVE to get a Rabbit as a first car.

They're amazing for the quality for the price.

But my mom had bad credit, and I have no credit at all, and couldn't afford a new car, anyway. =/

I've been saving for quite a while, and my parents understand that. That's why they're willing to help me out a bit. I could go for a BMW 635CSi if I wanted, its my all time favourite car, but I decided to get a more practical car for my first one. I don't wanna end up wrecking the Bimmer (and myself)

If mommy and daddy were going to buy me the car without it coming from my money at all, I'd be looking at Benzes instead of a 15,000USD compact.

aww i remember it is a dual mass fly wheel that acts as the torque converter and it has some sorta spring in it it has been recalled cause there not working right i would get the bimmer

I once crahsed my uncle's Rabbit. They are pretty fast.

VW GTI!!! is better than the normal Rabbit.

I've seen them, they're ok.

I already have my 1st car, a 1988 Ford Escort...

Hell, I don't care, it'll get me around.

Rabbits are great cars. Drive it, and then drive a golf (possibly a gti). See which you like better. You can get a nice 02-04 gti for 10 grand easy. Save the other 5 grand for insurance if you're paying for it, or for the repair bills on the VW. (previous owner of a mkIV gti)
