do you all prefer? I'm asking because I went to youtube to watch other guitarists play it and mostly what came up was SRV's version of the song. Is there some reason more people play the SRV version than the original? I thought maybe length or difficulty might have something to do with it. I myself have been playing the original. Anyways your thoughts?

I prefer Jimi's.

In particular, the Albert Hall version, simply beautiful.

Jimi's. I don't care for SRV's material. I feel nothing from it. Oddly enough, that usually applies to Jimi's material as well.

I liked it when it was called "Little Ivey."

Good for you. Have a cookie.

But really... there's no cookie. And if there was, you wouldn't get one.

To play or listen to? What I really want to know is why I see so many people playing it.

Jimi's version, but I really like Steve Vai's version too. He plays it quite well.

Wish he would have played that at the concert.

This one is pretty sweet too.

i guess because its an instrumental, showing off your chops may become a little easier without singing in the way

i prefer SRV's version, mainly because its makes great driving music.

prety sure Gary Moore's done a version, maybe even Clapton
