Hey what are everyone's opinions on the best sounding pickups and why(I want to modify my LP)?
#3
Yeah it all depends on the Music you wanna play, for example, if you play metal you should go for a high output active humbucker such as EMG's

There is no 'best'.

Best for you, maybe, best for everybody, no.

Agreed. Now, what genre are you going to be playing, what is your budget, and what is your amp?

I really, really hope your sig is sarcastic.

Really.

I'm an idiot and I accidentally clicked the "Remove all subscriptions" button. If it seems like I'm ignoring you, I'm not, I'm just no longer subscribed to the thread. If you quote me or do the @user thing at me, hopefully it'll notify me through my notifications and I'll get back to you.

I'll have to put the Classic T models on my to-try list. Shame the finish options there are Anachronism Gold, Nuclear Waste and Aged Clown, because in principle the plaintop is right up my alley.

Presumably because the CCF (Combined Corksniffing Forces) of MLP and Gibson forums would rise up against them, plunging the land into war.

I like Caparisons pickups the best. But you can only get them in their guitars. After those comes EMGs. I really hate DiMarzio pups sound.

Mainly rock to metal, but I do like a good, strong, clean tone when not distorted as well. I really like powerful lows, nice highs, and want the mid's to be a bit better than they are now.
My amp: I'm playing on a Fender Blues Junior, which i think is pretty good....amazes me for how small it is:very clean, great overdrive, and very very very loud - shakes my house.
My budget:maybe $200-400

True. I just want to know what everyone likes and why. A lot of people like EMG's -why? Dimargio - why? Seymour Duncan - why? etc.......

In all honesty it depends mainly on the amp, people choose pickups on the basis of how they're goingmake their amp respond. There's no best pickups, and other people opinions are moot until you give us an idea of your equipment and the kind of tones you're after.

agreed; obviously it depends on the guitar too. and the player.

EMG's are active (battery powered) and are very popular with metal players.

Dimarzio makes just about any style of pick up you can think of and are very popular with shredders.

Seymour Duncan is more popular for their vintage sounding pick ups and are popular with the tone deaf.
