yea i got 2 venues coming up next friday and the friday after and i have a peavey bandit 112. its loud when mic'd. problem, cant mic it since when the volume reaches a certian point, the thing hisses like crazy, its not feeback. its just that scratchy sound you here when you turn an amp up. im looking at new amps but id like to know if anyone has ideas for me. i turned down the gain as much as i could but i still need the right sound for metal.

so youre trying to mic an amp and use the same amp for you're guitar and keep the metal sound of your guitar but keep the mic clean?
Equipment(dont laugh i dont have all that much money right now):
Mexican Strat (want to upgrade soon)
Line6 Spider 212 150watt
FBV Express Foot pedal

i need to mic this amp, but everytime its mic'd it just amplifies this fuzzy scratchy sound that the amp speaker makes when its turned up.. doesnt matter if the guitars plugged in. it just naturally gives off this ''CHHHHHHH'' sound which is jsut amplified by the mic.
