What are your thoughts on this piece of music? It is the oldest melody in history. Obviously there were some before it, but this is the oldest we have our hands on.
#2
where do you find these things? seriously? you always seem to be uncovering these kinds of things.
#5
It's fact that the first melody was created by the Rolling Stones in 2500 B.C.

BASSLINES TO MAKE YOUR CHEST CAVITY SHUDDER.

Wow it's actually KEWL!
How they notated that? There wasn't standard music notation back then. Right?

They notated it in some odd way, and it was deciphered.

I thought that music was way more primitive back then

its good i guess.

although i was half hoping that it was in some 7/4 timing or something so that 4/4 would then become the progressive music and thus all progressive music now becomes ordinary.

The oldest melody in history probably wasn't polytonal.

Um, that being the oldest one we have found makes it the oldest one in history...

I'm not gonna say I liked it. Cause I didn't.

Good find, but I doubt it's legit. I mean, in a way, the song sounds so modern. But I dunno. Just seems fishy.

That is actually very awesome.

I want a lyre now. It actually sounds very cool. A lot more resonant than I imagined it would be just looking at when while the video was loading.

Very cool.

You do realize how very common it is to resurrect old sounds like that?

One time I had this chick setting on my lap, sucking on my neck, unbuttoning my pants when one of my friends walked in and ruined the whole thing. To be fair though, she was his girlfriend.

Shoopin' that whoop since before you were born, son.

I thought that sucked hard, personally.

Mastering your instrument is being able to play whatever you hear in your head, unhindered by inadequate technique. After that, it's all about what you've got to say, so there would be no "best," just a bunch of people saying exactly what they mean.

does any one have/ know where i could get sheet music or tab of that?

The sound isn't fishy to me, it's the very existence... Anyone know anything about how and when it was discovered, and how it was notated? That information would be nice.

I really liked that.

It's funny, but it sounds familiar, yet totally alien at the same time. Could we have possibly copied similar patterns and structures in the distant past, then, through endless combinations and permutations of notes, made all sorts of different melodies?

Cool!

Hahaha.

Sigged.
There ain't no moral to this story at all. Anything I tell you very well could be a lie.

You should clarify, it's the oldest melody in recorded history. I'm sure melody's existed long before then.

EDIT: The reverb the musician put on the melody gave it a great mysterious element to it. Nice melody.

im no expert on ancient music but it sounded quite pleasing to the ears. I love the sound that comes from his lyre thingy.
