A couple months ago I tried my hand at a cover of the trooper (see here ). Two months later, I'm doing it again with a different amp, and a boss gt-8. This time I used audacity and the .ogg's from frets on fire to create a backing track.

I'm going to update this post progressively. I can play most of the song and one of the solos, but I still haven't gotten used to recording my playing into a backing track. At the moment all I've got is the intro, but I'll add more and more as I record it.

For now, here's the intro with a backing track. More to come soon

I've been playing for four months and I'm using a Squier Affinity Strat->Boss GT-8->Peavey Rage 158->My Headset Mic =P
