I know a few people who do it... including myself
I bought the new POD X3 and a 200 pound 300 watt + 100 watt horn full range speaker and I think it sounds bloody marvelous...
has anyone else ever tried it out or use a similar setup at the minute?

Ah, I believe he meant sound clips.

Depending on the modeller, it can sound great without effort, or take alot of eq-ing as some modellers are designed to be run through non-transparent guitar amps.

The more expensive units tend to sound great through PA systems and the like.

Ohh right, no sorry, i don't really have a method of recording that would do it justice
I just wanted to see if anyone else used anything similar... I thought it would be frowned upon on by a very purist Gibson + Marshall kind of site like this haha:')

Can't you just use the pod X3 through your computer?I'd sorta like to know how that sounds without the speaker also.I really want one.

I've been thinking of getting a POD, so I'm glad to hear it sounds decent. But I was also wondering, can you run it through your computer and play it from the computer speakers/headphones?
Be cool.

Well if you are using computer speakers, they are most likely to still be full range.
what you get through a full range speaker (depending on the quality) is basically just all the modeller i.e. no other amps just the speakers e.q

Pods are used a lot for directly recording out of, the only band i could name off the top of my head that i know use Pods are this bunch http://www.myspace.com/deadpoetic
