Well, I see people making these threads alot without some original ideas.

I'm making a Randy Rhoads V, Mahogany Wings, 3 Piece Maple - Mahogany - Maple 24 fret Neck through Neck.

I have chosen a Super 3 DP152 (Bridge) Air Norton DP193 (Neck).
Both by Dimmarzio, anyone got any better ideas for Pickups?

I play a range from Gary Moore, Metallica, Rolling Stones, Carlos Santana, Rage Against the Machine and A GIGANTIC load of Speed/Black/Melodic metal.

Thanks in advance =]

speed/black/melodic metal you say?
that just SCREAMS Amon Amarth/In Flames at me.

you need an EX body shape or an Explorer shape.
playin black melodic speed metal on a rhoads dont feel right.
now playing it on a fatass, badass body shape, now that does =]

and for pups, obviously im gonna reccommend Seymour Duncan Blackouts.
they even got Alexi ****ing Laiho to switch from his passive EMG HZ 4 to the SDBs.
now...think of how long Alexi has been using EMGs.....yeah....they're that awesome =]

I've heard blackouts are great, but I haven't heard any sound samples...
Anyone got any?

Many of the groups you listed use PAF's in some (if not all) of their guitars or they at least started out using PAF's. Get yourself a PAF or PAF Pro in the neck for rock, classic rock, classic metal, and alternative and then Get something like a D Sonic or Super Distortion for the bridge depending on how Modern you want your bridge tone to be.

Or you could always get handwound pickups from me

Also be aware that these pickup recomendations are made under the assumption that you already have a good amp.
Not taking any online orders.

I'm thinking of ordering in a VOX ADVT50-XL.
I currently have a 70watt Roland Jazz Chorus

I've just read up on the LW HMET, It sounds pretty good but it seems too distorted...
I don't know, but it doesn't have the sound i'm looking for really.
Anyone else got ideas?

What different qualities do each of the EMG 81/85, D-Activators and the Blackouts have that set them apart?
