i currentsly have a vintage high voltage hybrid amp and am looking to buy some aditional effects. However i dont know if effects pedals would work well with it, because it all ready has some effects built in.
If they will work were would they best be placed in the set up?

Depends, if your amp has a effects loop then modulation effects and such would best be placed in the loop, dist, wah etc. should be before the amp.

If its a few built in effects it shouldn't be an issue, just when you start getting into the modellers you get most of the awkwardness,
