I play mostly rock, alt and a bit of classic rock. My goal is to sound like Muse and Radiohead, would Seymour Duncans work more or should I get some EMG's for the Muse stuff and leave my telecaster for the Radiohead stuff?

Thanks,
Thom

It depends on the specific pickups.

I dont think EMGs would be good at all....

I talked to the guy at the store I was going to buy the EC-1000 from, he said for my style I'd probably like the Duncans for the versatility, but I'm just clarifying that and seeing if the EMG's would indeed sound good.

EMG's are more for metal in my opinion

go with the 59/SD JB combo someone else suggested

Alright, I think you have a great point. Yeah, the 59/JD's is what I said earlier, so I guess I'm getting those bad boys.

The Duncans would probably make more sense, even though I don't really like the JB.

You might want to check out the ESP LTD EC-400VF, it's *basically* the same guitar only $200 cheaper.

EMGs sound like sex, there's a right EMG for any sound you wish. Besides, everyone knows David Gilmore and Vince Gill are known for their KRUSHING BR00TAL TONES!!!!!

The guitar he's buying either has a JB/'59 or EMGs in it...
