I'm now getting into guitar (im a bassist), so if you guys can suggest any easy metal songs for me to get started on. I listen to a lot of core/death/folk/black metal....

Also any excersices you have will be appreciated.

Iron Man is an obvious starter song, try Master Of Puppets to improve your downstrokes and also something like Bodom After Midnight (the riffs) later on to practice alternate picking.

Metallica - Enter Sandman

That has a pretty easy riff which is also fun to play.

Mask of Sanity - Chiildren of Bodom

If Hendrix, Clapton and Page were to jam, the most impressive guitarist playing would be Paul Gilbert.

Constant Motion by Dream Theater.

That song is definitely easier for more experienced players(minus the solo of course), but no way is it an easy song for a beginner to play.
Go get your shovel.

seek and destroy is also quite easy, and it sounds cool!

You should also have a look at some bullet for my valentine stuff if you like them.
Most songs are not that hard and they are fun to play! (and suffocating is overrated! xD)

Oh and you could also try Amon Amarth things... Pursuit of the Vikings...

cheers!
