So after 60 days of being locked up for crimes I clearly didn't commit, regardless of whatever photographic evidence they claim to have, I've been released from the forum of the banned. It was a tough period of my life. I had to find an alternate means of masturbation from "The Only Led Zeppelin Thread" for two months (overindulging pictures of Jimmy Page from the 60s are what all Zeppelin fans use instead of porn right?) and naturally I strayed to the first porn website I could find, and then stayed on it solidly for two months. It's called UG profiles, and man is it a sausage fest. I know UG was mainly male populated, but I reckon in two months I have been on just about every girl on UGs profile (all 6 of them). Absolutely awful. Anyway, now that I'm back I figured I'd release some inward anger about whats been happening in the old world of rock and roll.

First things first, the imaginary Van Halen reunion (not Van Hager, fuck off). This isn't going to happen. Eddie's a junkie bastard and Wolfgang is about 9 years old with a really retarded name. If Van Halen got back together for a tour I would go and see them, but only for DLR. Just like how I'm going to see The Spice Girls reunion, not because I like their music but because to be honest, apart from the one with big hair that had sex with Eddie Murphy (enough reason not to like her), they'd all get it. So it's clearly a perfect opportunity for what I like to call a photo-finish wank.

Second of all I think I've found the greatest television channel in the world. It's called Big Box TV and it's absolute genius. If you live outside the UK not only are you probably retarded, but you won't get this channel. It's basically a channel where people upload videos of themselves singing classic songs but dubbed over. So the actual music in the background but with them acting out videos on crappy amateur cameras. It sounds awful, and it absolutely is, but its possibly the funniest thing I've ever seen in my life. Some people have no life.

The next thing I'd like to cover are next years entires for the Rock and Roll hall of fame. If you haven't already heard:
• Afrika Bambaataa
• Beastie Boys
• Chic
• Leonard Cohen
• Dave Clark Five
• Madonna
• John Mellencamp
• Donna Summer
• The Ventures

I have genuinely heard of only three of those acts, The Beastie Boys and Leonard Cohen who in my opinion are decent entries, although possibly not my first choices, and Madonna who can fuck off and die. Who the hell are the rest of these guys? Anyone called "Afrika Bambaataa" does not deserve the credit of the Rock and Roll hall of fame, not that it's ever been that good anyway. The true genius of course is that since the Rock and Roll hall of fames start back in 1986, they haven't once included The Rolling Stones, seemingly incredible when you consider the current acts up for entry.

The last thing I'd like to mention is that I heard something about a George Harrison film that's going to be directed by Martin Scorcese. Not sure if it's true or not and I haven't really checked up on it at all. Anyone know anything about it? I'd be rather interested to know and may pay for information, most likely with my genitalia.

Peace out cumstains.

Van Halen did reform didn't they?

Finally, a childhood dream came true this past weekend. I saw Van Halen with David Lee Roth. "God Damn" is about all I can say. Observations? Oh sure. The crowd was a lot more diverse than I was anticipating. A lot of old, doughy looking Guitar Center guys, but a ton of suburban dads and moms with kids in tow. An exclusively white crowd except for a 6'4" black dude who towered over the audience that was clearly an undercover cop dressed as a woman. So painfully awkward. I loved it. Thanks to Gary for being my travel buddy and for pushing me over the edge by actually paying for my $125 ticket up front. This show tripled the most I've ever spent to see a rock show in my life.

Or were you trying to say that VH aren't VH without Lee Roth and so not worth the energy to accept as a reunion?

Big Box tv, completely agree with you. Channel 476 (Sky digital). Memorised for every advert break, but I do think that I've seen every video they have so far. www.bedroom.tv for people not in the UK.

The rock n roll hall of fame is lame, but hasn't it always been?
You've heard of more than three of them, trust me. Chic did 'Le freak' and 'Good times', funky tracks, funky band, very famous.
Afrika Bambaataa are famous for something, but honestly can't remember what anymore.
Dave Clark Five, **** knows.
John Mellencamp, relatively famous name, think he was the same kind of period as Bruce Springsteen so probably got more attention in the US than over here.
Donna Summer is amazingly famous. You should feel ashamed. 'Love to love you baby' and 'I feel love', you'd probably recognise them if you heard them. Very famous dance music.
And the Ventures, very famous instrumental surf guitar lot. 'Walk don't run' I think was the name of their track.

That's when you know you found somebody special. When you can just shut the f*ck up for a minute, and comfortably share silence.

I did and didn't find them on it. Clearly I suck at reading. Oh well, it doesn't excuse the other acts they've managed to miss out.

Yeah basically the point I'm making about VH is that it's not really gonna work as a reunion when Eddie is junkie and they don't even have the full band. It's long overdue and this now isn't really worth the effort.

I'm gonna check some of them out to see what they're like, but to be honest, I'm particularly interested in the Hall of Fame anyway. Anyone who credits Madonna as a part of rock and roll history needs to get a life.

I dunno about a george harrison film but i know scorcese is making a film about the rolling stones maybe thats from what the rumour started

I can't believe that you've never heard of John Mellencamp? His name when he first came out was John Cougar, encouraged by the record execs. Later on he changed it back to what it really is, though. Popular songs from him are:

Jack and Diane

^^Ah, very cool.

Good to have Derigiberble back, you bring some humor to this place

And by the way, the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame is a joke.

Have you been there? I've been itching to go. It does annoy me that Mark Knopfler has not been inducted. Did you guys ever see 'Pick of Destiny?' That movie was pretty cool in terms of rock music in general.

Heh, yeah, I still want to go. One of these days I'm gonna take a trip out to Ohio and hit Cedar Point, the R&R HoF and the Football HoF in one shot.

Yea, it has an awesome gift shop too. I've found a lot of records there that are nearly impossible to find anywhere else. Its right by Cleveland Browns Stadium, so I usually go there and check out the gift shop between 7-9 times a year.

Yeah but isn't Deri in Scotland or something? Mellencamp hasn't really been big across the pond, just in the North America.

Those are all such big hits though that I'm amazed he's not atleast semi-familiar with the name.
