So I have a samsung and a junkie gateway cd drive and here is my problem
The computer doesn't recognize the drive. Its listed in the device manager but it says the drivers are gone or corrupted.
WTF?
It was working great last night. And I know the drive works because it boots up linux.
Any sugestions?

Oh yeah, I have ALOT of important school and job stuff on my computer and the last time I did a system restore It wiped out a FEW of my extreamly important files.
Can anyone say term papers?

Uninstall it from device manager.

Shut down, start up.

It should find it and install the drivers for it.

it didn't do crap
It still says the drivers are gone or missing
