Hello,
I'm thinking about building a strat and had a question about necks. if I have a 72 reissue body can I fit a 62 reissue neck on the body? I was wondering because a 62 neck has 4 screws and a 72 body only has 3.
Thanks

yes, it could easily be done if you fill and redrill. unless the heel size is different, then itd be a little harder.

heel size stayed the same till the '80s charvel thing. so i think the heel should fit.

If I were to fill and re-drill would it be easy to mess up? Perhaps it would be easier just to go with a 72 neck

If you're building it why does it matter?

The body and neck would be pre-drilled

Yes, sorry if I used the wrong terminology. Edit: Would I just fill the old body holes with wood putty?

Putting wood putty on a guitar is like putting cat hair on a pizza.

Use wood glue and dowels instead.
