I'd want to be a NYC punk in 1977. Television, Ramones, Richard Hell, Patti Smith, Talking Heads, and Blondie concerts at CBGB all the time? Awesome. Also, the New York punk were the originals, they were clever, kitschy and authentically confrontational.

A close runner up would be the late sixties with the Monterey Pop Festival and Woodstock.

Edit: Also, being in Athens, Georgia when the Elephant 6 collective started forming.

I luv Fall Out Boy and My Chem and 3m0!!11!!

Seriously, though, the current era is my favorite. I hate old music, and I just don't listen to the bad music that's out now. There's tons of good music. It's everywhere.

Probably the 80s. Metal's not even one of my favorite genres, but at least back then people had some passion for living life.

Nah, they were. The British punk scene was sparked by Malcolm McLaren, who was inspired by the little seedling scene building up at CBGB's.
And yet, to me, what is this quintessence of dust? Man delights not me: no, nor woman neither... nor women neither.

80's hair "metal" scene prolly, it just seemed like a party the whole time.
If you see me in the pit, know that I'm only there because the metal forum is moving slowly.

80's Seattle. I want to experience grunge.

And, no, I'm not a Nirvana fanboy. All I want is to experience a high-energy Soundgarden or Hammerbox show. Pearl Jam and Mother Love Bone, too!

Late '60s/early '70s.

The era of peace, love, and rock n' roll.

Also, Woodstock.

Where I am right now.

There's more amazing msuic than people know, and if I had a band, and could write exactly what I wanted, I would love to be right in the middle of it all.

I would then love to be signed to either Hydra Head Record, Suicide Squeeze Records, or Flameshovel Records, and tour with some of my favorite/influential bands.

NYC punk and Brit punk were starting at the same damn time. THEY ARE BOTH THE ORIGINALS!

And for me its a hard toss between the hippie era of the 60's and the punk era of the late 70's and early 80's. So both.
