I'm looking for that nice vintage distortion sound. I've been looking at a couple Seymour Duncan setups that are pretty costly, the tweak fuzz, and twin tube. Is there a good pedal out there for around 30 to 50 bucks that sounds just as good if not better?

i think a medium gain tube amp really benefits from an equalizer pedal, not just an od

check out an eq in front of the amp, as well as an od similar to a tubescreamer.

I've heard that the zack wylde od is actually pretty versatile.

I've tried the zakk wylde and liked it. It, of course, has a more modern voicing but it sounds great.

the bad monkey by digitech is 30 to 50 dollars

I know they are cheap but i bought a delay and it was an absolute piece of junk... as far as an overdrive I don't know.

Thats what I've heard. Boss has some pedals in my price range, but I'm not very familiar with Boss at all.

It takes a sledgehammer to break boss stuff, and for the most part, except their metal stomps, they are good effects

$30-$50 is kinda low for a pedal. About the only thing in that price range is the Ibanez Tubescreamer (plastic grey box ones) and Digitech Bad Monkey.

The Digitech Bad Moneky is sweet. You could probably find the old DOD version (the Juice Box) even cheaper. Pair that with a good EQ and you're set

You should spend a little more and get something really nice like the Fulltone OCD. It's around $150
