Beastie Boys

Saul Williams

Both are great. I'm sure there are other good rap acts too, all the stuff in mainstream music right now gives it a really bad name. (Although I guess Beastie Boys and Saul are more "hip-hop", whatever)...

Lupe Fiasco, The Roots, and Tupac mostly.

I like the Beastie Boys. Seems like a lot of it is just meh, however I have heard people say that underground rap is good, I just haven't taken the time to find any of it.

Rap Sucks.
But if I did like rap it'd be by these artists: Busta Rhymes, Lil Jon, Ludacris (I only like about 10 songs though)
My least favorite rap has to be Slipknot though.
If you see me in the pit, know that I'm only there because the metal forum is moving slowly.

WHY THE HELL do non-rock genres always get discussed in the Pit?!

God, there's an OTHER subforum in the Bands & Artists forum for a reason.

Yawn is right, no music should ever be discussed in the pit.

Nas - Illmatic
Dizzee Rascal - New album
Saul Williams - esp. Twice the First Time (this song is pretty amazing)
Wu-Tang - Enter The 36 Chambers
Cypress Hill - Black Sunday
Dr. Dre - 2001
Fugees - Refugee Camp
Jurassic 5 - Power in Numbers
Snoop Dogg - Doggystyle [saw J5 and the Doggfather at Good Vibes '07 and they got EVERYONE jumping (I didn't really like Snoop before this performance)]
NWA - Straight Outta Compton

I would by no means consider myself a rap/hip hop fan, but these are some pretty bloody good albums.

Haha it was pretty awesome, in my french 11 course we studied French rap and I had to listen to some of it to pass the course. It definitely broadened my musical horizons, but I can't remember who the rapper was. It was then I realized that 50 Cent and the MTV gangstas are not really rappers.
