Has anyone ever built an acoustic stomp box. i am talking about the ones that produce the tappinging sound when your foot hits the box.

not an effects pedal.

used to keep the beat with your foot.
is it just a mic in a box.

It can be a mic, piezo element or even a guitar pickup (a cheap single coil that's slightly microphonic works very well).

by the way what is a cheap pick up that i could use. and wiring would also be helpful.

I believe they actually make those tap-boxes. I don't know of a specific website that produces and sells them, but I have seen one.

yeah there is a website called ellis guitars that sells them. they cost like 60 70 bucks or somethin.
i've already got the wood. i just need to know what pickup to use.
