I’m gonna change my strings on my Les Paul from 11’s to 10’s, as I’m finding them too thick, especially the E A and D strings. The sounds way too thick.

The strings are already quite low to the fretboard, and then even lower again when I tune down ½ step.

Would I need to adjust anything if I go down to 10’s? They’ll be even lower…right? Or have I got it backwards?

Minor changes shouldn't be a problem. Going from 12's to 9's would be a different story.

I prefer 10's, Rotosound Yellows in particular.

Yeah there the ones I have, the ones with the free extra .10.

K I'll give it a go tonight, but I still think they'll be too low.

Shoudlnt be much of a problem, some ajusting of the bridge maybe.
I am currently switching from 9 to 12 and tuning down 3 halfsteps to play Floods and with a floyd rose of course, so I'll have a nice long evening with just the guitar and a tuner (and some tools of course)

I recently changed from 10s to 11s on my LP it made the sound so much stronger and more defined. I guess that is exactly the reverse of what you want is so yes it will work for you if you reduce the string gauge. You won't need to change intonation unless you're really fussy about these things.

Yeah I might miss the thickness of the G B and E strings, as I get a real nice tone out of them, but I just wanna see if there's much of a difference changing to 10's.
