My torrent is 110MB, but in the details its showing me that 470MB has been downloaded and the file STILL hasn't been completed!!!! Its stuck on 96.3% stating that 4 MB is left, but I've downloaded a lot more than that 4mb! Also it says 1 hour left, but I've crossed days on end!

Whats the problem and what do I do?

Are you sure that that 470MB could be what you have uploaded?

It's something to do with errors in the file I believe.

What are these "a piece has failed an hash check" messages?

Bittorrent clients check the data they receive for integrity. When a piece fails this check it is automatically re-downloaded. Occasional hash fails are a common occurrence, and you shouldn't worry.

Some clients have an (advanced) option/preference to 'kick/ban clients that send you bad data' or similar. It should be turned on, since it makes sure that if a peer repeatedly sends you pieces that fail the hash check it will be ignored in the future.

The torrent is supposed to be 100MB. How come I downloaded 120MB?

See the hash fails topic. If your client receives bad data it will have to redownload it, therefore the total downloaded may be larger than the torrent size. Make sure the "kick/ban" option is turned on to minimize the extra downloads.

Its clearly mentioned

Total Downloaded: 470MB (88MB Rubbish data)

If andrewbiles is right, do I have to redownload the entire torrent or just switch on the option?

I think the kick/ban option is just to save your computer from downloading the same erroneous data over and over from the same seeder.
I've never come across the action, but that quote was taken from thebox.bz which generally seems to know what it's talking about.
