i have a 400 dollar budget and i need a new electric, maybe one thats good for modding. Im looking at a fender strat but i would like some other opinions.

I'd "look" into a strat. When I worked at music and arts, we got this vintage squier in and it played extremely well for it's price. It was 299.99 last time I saw it. That was always the "go-to" electric guitar when we had no customers... and we even had an american tele and strat up on display.
