Hi! I need some help....

I use amp modeling using my PC, and I plug my distortions directly to the sound card. Some pedals won't work that way, so I need a preamp, as simple as possible, just to be able to use those pedals...

So... any suggestions?

it's not simple, or cheap, but the Rocktron Prophesy II = epic win

Digitech Genesis 3. Like a POD. Its cheap, about $50-75 on ebay. Sounds good by itself or i can be used as a cab simulator alone after your pedals. I have a pair I use at home for recording one-on-one jam sessions. Prolly the cheapest thing I can think of. Maybe M-Audio has a simpler USB to guitar cable? They're makin lots of gadgets like that these days.
