i haven't read any of those, but i have been eager to get into the dark tower series.

I would say "IT" is one of the best books i've ever read, but it you've really got to devote some time to reading it.

Also recommend:

The Shining
Pet Semetary
Cell
Desperation

It, the Shining, both great, The Green Mile too

Everything's Eventual. Short Stories.

Or Different Seasons, series of novellas. Or just read Misery, a classic.
There is poetry in despair.

Look at it this way- everyone rags on air guitar here because everyone can play guitar. If we were on a lawn mower forum, air guitar would be okay and they would ridicule air mowing.

I would recommend one of his Richard Bachman persona books. Like The Long Walk, Rage, or The Running Man.
The person below me is probably a homosexual.

Fackin' Salem's Lot, and then The Tommyknockers.
Salem's Lot is probably among the best books he's ever written.

Some scientists claim that hydrogen, because it is so plentiful, is the basic building block of the universe. I dispute that. I say there is more stupidity than hydrogen, and that is the basic building block of the universe.

The Talisman, his best book in my opinion, even better than the gunslinger which I love.

Carrie's my favourite King novel, guys might not like it that much though. Very creepy.

Edit: Misery, god yes. One of his best villains.
