Yay I'm finally back from months of solitude in the FOTB...
Anyway I just bought some Wii Points, and recently purchased the original Super Mario Bros. What games would you recommend? Remember that I am only 16 so I was born into the gaming phase of N64 and Gameboy color/advance...

So anybody find some really fin VC (Virtual Console) games for wii?
Thanks!

i'm 20 so i grew up on snes, though i'm not sure what they offer on VC as i don't have a wii. But if they have it get super mario rpg, donkey kong country, any bomberman games they might have, super mario kart for the snes is quite fun, umm... chrono trigger (doubt they have it but hey who knows) not really sure your preferable genre, but those are some nice ones to start out with.

all the paper mario games are great, umm jet force gemini (sp?) for the n64 was really good. that conker game was amusing if you have a perverse sense of humor (yeah... it's the pit) Ogre battle 64, F zero X, umm the zelda games (sure you thought of those already) and those are all 64 games mind you.

and yeah earthbound lol

Out of the vc games that I know are on VC.

Mario Bros 3, Super Mario World, Paper Mario, Mario 64, F Zero X, Sonic 2, Sonic 3, Donkey Kong Country, Yoshi's Island (I think thats the name - it was the N64 game), Wave Race 64 and there are loads more. Its been a while since checked VC to see what is new as well.

Can't believe noone's said Lylat Wars.

'mon the Fox!

I have soo much catching up to do.

I have a lot of old n64 games and a load of newer wii games still to get. The VC means there will not be a gaming drought for as long as I have money for a long time.

Or, you know, you could just get emulators + roms and play all of them for free.

Yeah, but it's so much more satisfying playing them on an actual console. =/

So true.

I did go for the rom and emulator route but using the wii controller or gamecube controller is just more satisfying (really should just invest in a classic controller since i'll be playing alot of vc games - get the damn sd cards working so they can be used to run games from them nintendo - since I missed out on the SNES and NES generations, and my tastes have changed a little bit since the N64 gen (I still love most of the games I got though) ).

Shining Force! Its the one of the OG Strategy RPGs. I don't remember if they have 1 or 2 though... but don't get Shining in the Darkness. that was just lame.
