I just can't get my pulloffs to make enough noise. I know you're supposed to pull off with a slight downwards motion, and I'm doing that enough to make it sound like bend, but my pulloffs are so tiny (in sound) that the riff sounds terrible.

I'm working on Always With Me, Always With You. The tapping section looks like this.

if youve got the right amount of distortion and sustain, i dont think you need to be doing a downward pull of motion, it should all flow smoothly at the right speed with just the momentum of that first hammeron

Hmmm..
The song's just not that distorted, he gets this really creamy tone, and I don't want to mess it up with gritty, crunchy distortion.

EDIT:
Actually, I cranked the distortion, and turned down the tones and raised the mids, so it sounds pretty good, and that definitely helped. Any other tips?

(I gotta do this live in a month, and I'm nervous.)

I personally use finger strength in my slurs to help...maybe you need to build some more finger strength. Or just practice your slurs.

just practice more force in your pull offs

^lol^

Yeah, pull offs are harder to do without the distortion on. I guess just keep on practicing .
