The south island has all the cool stuff like zorbing and bungee jumps and strange fan propelled things on rope. Also has Milford Sound which is always recommended as one of the most beautiful places on earth.

Zorbing's in the north island. Go to Rotorua just because it smells.

You should meet up with me (I'm not a pedophile I promise )

Where are you from? You'll be fine, we're friendly folks. Just go into a pub and order a tui. That'll show you aren't totally uneducated in the ways of kiwi drinking.

edit: Sweeden aye? You'll be sweet as. Be sure to pick up the maori phrase book. I think they sell it in tourist-y shops at the airport. Its funny/a little useful. Tu meki!

Its a bird with bobbles what look like testicles hanging from its neck. But it sings beautifully.

However, in the context I meant, its a beer. A very nice beer. Tis the staple of kiwi drinking.

stay away from auckland unless you're working, ppl think we're divided into the south and the north island but really its new zealand and auckland.

but seriously go to stewart island, great native animals and scenery

A friend of mine lives in Auckland so I'm going to stay at her place and work there. But if I don't like it I can always move.

When you go to NZ, if you like metal, see 8 foot sativa, I miss those guys
And there's this other band there called Cripple Mr. Onion, who are surprisingly awesome.

We could use the doctors too. All our doctors leave to go to australia and stuff. Heaps of overcrowding in the hospitals Theres just been a big scandal, some woman miscarried in a hospital toliet because she was being ignored .

I ran into Jemaine in wellington today

But yeah, its a pretty nice place. Alot of land mass for the amount of people so its not crowded at all.

Most pubs/clubs wont accept British drivers licences as ID, or anything like that. You can use your passport but thats it. Unless you have a NZ drivers licence which is unlikly since your a sweed.

They are INCREDIBLY strict on under-age drinking (assuming your under age) Then again, you are going there on your own so you must be at a fair age. Enjoy yourself and dont forget to take pictures!

See the sheep? Nah, I'm joking. I haven't been but I want to.

Australia is good but Sydney is quite boring. I live in the outer western suburbs, and hate the city. It's OK as a tourist I guess, but I'd go the north coast or Queensland. Sydney is just concrete.

Me myself i would not go to Sydney. If we are the asshole of the world then Sydney is the asshole of Australia. I mean its a cool place and all, but there really is nothing much to see or do. Short of go to the zoo, or hit the clubs.

I would recommend Brisbane or Gold Coast.

Anyway, as for NZ, North Island i would definetley check out:

Napier
Taupo
Rotorua
Wellington
Tauranga/Mt Manganui
Coromandel Peninsula

North Island represent! :P lol I prefer the North Island, too cold down south, and i havent had much of a reason to travel there so i cant say what its like.

Catch the ferry from Wellington to Picton? nice day trip, go further down if you want. DEFINETLEY check out Queenstown if you have a bit of money, awesome place. great skiing.
#34
Bring a guitar and they let you on the ferry for free provided you play it on the boat.

I live here. Make sure you go to Kaikoura to see the whales there.

I will probably buy a cheap acoustic guitar when I've arrived. I would never survive six months without one.
Thank you for all your suggestions I'll try to visit all of them

What's the age limit for buying alcohol in NZ?

Definately do the south island and Australia.
Sydneys got some nice beaches, and its a pretty fun place.
You've got 6 months, try and cram as much of both countries in as you can.
You could even go to antarctica!
drinking age in australia is 18.
NYE will be awesome in sydney as per usual.
Oh dear god, I dont feel alive.
I have a new blog, of the interesting type.

In so far i have seen,

1. The Darkness
2. Wolfmother
3. The Grates
4. Faker
5. Kings of Leon
6. Coheed and Cambria
7. Architecture in Helsinki

and counting.
