I'm thinking of buying a cheap bass guitar so I can learn some bass stuff, I'm guessing it'll be very useful to learn for all the music I play, to recognise bass parts & be able to play them on guitar & bass.

If you're planning on getting a good bass in the future, get the cheapest bass you can then you have more to spend on your top of the line baby.
