A few months ago, my school was having an auction and my friend and i picked up a Peavey Deca Power amp for around $36, and i was wondering if i could plug a Bass Preamp into and if it will be ok for me to play through?

If i can do this, what preamp would you guys recommend? Also can i run a preamp pedal through a power amp?

Oh by the way, here is an instruction manual for the power amp.

if it is a plain power amp then yea, go for it. I would go for a sansamp RBI personally

sure, it would work. thats a really good price, too.
this preamp would work fine. Ampeg also makes a very decent preamp. you do need to use a bass cab, though. not a guitar cab. good luck, and congrats.

Oh yeah i forgot to say we also picked up a peavey black widow bass cab with 1 x 15 speaker for around $30 too, so i am ok.

So could i use something like this:

I like to keep my rig to minimum, so having something that small and portable, would be pretty cool to have
