Hey, I've haven't been here in a long time. I dunno if anyone remembers me but hey to those of you I know. I'll do a critique for critique exchange for those who want it. Leave me a link.

So, I recorded a song a while ago when my sound card was broken and I couldn't record directly into my computer. I used a small digital recorder for vocals and guitar and then uploaded the tracks and tried to mix them in with the rest of the song, which I made on my computer with fruity loops and other software.

I have a new sound card now that lets me record with a mic, and this is one of my favorite songs, so I wanted to fix the mistakes and make a "final" version. But I'm so used to this version, I need the quips and problems pointed out to me. General feedback is fine too, though!

I must warn you, this is experimental and not like my little acoustic songs you know me for. If you don't like weird electronic or IDM-style music, you don't have to come here and tell me you think it's crap. Thanks!

The MP3 quality is higher than I usually upload, so let it load if you need to!

I really liked it. The guitars punchy chords worked really well with the overall feeling of the song. You're an excellent vocalist. Really nice song

Hey yeah I remember you. I remember some of your tracks. Cor you've come a way since. It's not the usual music I listen to, but it's unique, and the drum tracks you got sound quite professional. Couldn't understand what the hell you're singing though, which is a shame. I'm listening to guessing game now and it reminds me of bright eyes old stuff. Which is good I think. I like it alot, the voice goes with the acoustic.

I'm listening to mixdown 5 again... it sounds really good. Just needs the voice turned UP
and a few lil tweaks. Drumbeat and soundfx awesome, capturing emotion. Good stuff, just get some better gear lol. And it needs to go somewhere I think. I feel it leading somewhere n then it stops. I don't like that.

Check out my new one. Cheeeers n welcome back https://www.ultimate-guitar.com/forum/showthread.php?t=691105

Nice!
Thanks. Please feel free to elaborate.

I remember you too, Orophin. Good to see a familiar face, er, screen name here. I suppose the vocals could be turned up a bit, yeah. I wanted them to blend in with the music and not be carried above the rest of the music, but a little bit up would probably be a good idea. I just noticed Pure Volume compressed the file making it fuzzier than I had intended, so the sharpness of the vocals gets muddied a little bit more. It might sound better on Dmusic if anyone's interested: http://acousticgrrl.dmusic.com/music/

Ouch. I disagree!

Thanks all three of you. I appreciate it.

Can someone tell me where the guitar timing is off and whether it's too early or too late? When I originally mixed down the file, I knew and it bugged me but I never fixed it. Now I'm so used to the way it sounds, I don't remember where it was messed up anymore. How does the guitar sound?

Danke.
