Hey there

I'm from the UK, and I was wondering if anyone from the UK (or anywhere, but no god if not sold here lol) that could reccommend (sp??) me some books on how to make and build solid-bodies and acoutic guitars?

Thanks

These are two separate subjects so here are two separate recommendations.

1. For solid bodies, check out this review of Make Your Own Electric Guitar. It's one of the best books available on the subject.

2. For acoustic guitars, here's a review of Guitarmaking:Tradition and Technology . The book is an exhaustive overview of the process by a top notch luthier.

You can get either through Amazon.

Regards,

Robert

No problem - I'm glad I can help. I remember the time and effort it took to gather good information for my first build.

You might also want to take a look at this list of resources I put together - 10 Resources for the Guitar Builder. It includes several books, forums and tutorial sites you'll find of interest.

Best regards,

I find project guitar better than most books, sure books are good but you can't ask a book a question and get an answer.

Project Guitar is a fantastic site and I've learned a lot there. But you'll save yourself a lot of time and effort by getting a good grounding on guitar making with a good book. Then you'll be able to go to forums like Project Guitar and ask solid questions.
