Anyone know where you can actually purchase a Carl Thompson bass? Besides the web. But if the only place is the internet websites would be most appreciated. Thanks

psh good luck with that
carl thompson is an exclusive luthier
he only makes like one bass a year
and there's a list of people waiting to buy them
and its like 4000 dollars for a standard 4 string with no cool options
and you need to email him i think to buy

Firstly, to the best of my knowledge Carl Thompson is not making basses anymore so if you want one you would have to buy it used (which will not happen as people do not sell their Carl Thompson basses). Secondly, you appear to be only taking the appearance of the instrument into account (After all you did put a Carl Thompson bass and a low-end Ibanez on the same level). Buy a bass because it sounds good, it feels good, and it suites your needs as a musician. Do not buy a bass because it looks a certain way, it is not a fashion accessory.
I got in everyone's hostile little face. Yes, these are bruises from fighting. Yes, I'm comfortable with that. I am enlightened.

D Huff guitars - they are possibly the most blatant rip off of CT basses ever, but i think they look better.
