I'm learning Free Bird right now. At the 16 second mark, when he does the bird sounds, how does he get that sound out of the guitar? And around the 51 second mark the low grinding sound, how does he get that sound? Help please

Bird Sounds: Playing right over the pick-ups with a slide.

Low griding sound": Basically I think that's just a natural sound one gets from playing slide guitar through an overdriven amp, coming up to the note from lower frets.

Try to play slide over the pickup of your guitar it should sound similar to the bird sounds.^

I'm not sure what he frets or where exactly but the sound is from playing it near or over the pickups.

Are you serious? I said, "over the pickup of your guitar."
