im looking at getting a new amp.
im getting a new guitar soon (most likely Jackson Rhoads RR1) and want an amp which will make this guitar perform to the best of its capability.
I mainly play metal/classic/rock metal such as Children of bodom, trivium, sabbath, iron maiden, acdc....the list goes on.
I want something that will mainly give a really mean sounding metal tone for both screaming leads and bad ass rhythm, cleans arent too important but i do want something where the cleans are atleast somewhat useable.
I was thinking about getting something like a peavey 5150?

What are peoples opinions?

probably a used 5150, but if you cant find one im pretty sure the 6505 is the same but with better cleans. But im not completely sure on that.

^ +1- for a stepping off point, though, the 5150 or 6505 (or II/+ versions) would be a decent choice.

^^ i think the +/II version is meant to have slightly nicer cleans?
I'm an idiot and I accidentally clicked the "Remove all subscriptions" button. If it seems like I'm ignoring you, I'm not, I'm just no longer subscribed to the thread. If you quote me or do the @user thing at me, hopefully it'll notify me through my notifications and I'll get back to you.

I'll have to put the Classic T models on my to-try list. Shame the finish options there are Anachronism Gold, Nuclear Waste and Aged Clown, because in principle the plaintop is right up my alley.

Presumably because the CCF (Combined Corksniffing Forces) of MLP and Gibson forums would rise up against them, plunging the land into war.
