Anyone got any experience with a setup like this?

I wanna take my ibanez RG2EX2, re-paint it metallic black, and stuff a 60 in the neck and 85 in the bridge.

Good idea or not?

Great list Rutch. On re-reading this one I'd have to say Solid State means not liquid or gas.

I figured it out.

I don't like EMG(s) as much but I still say that they're still smokin
That is going to be a awesome guitar you'll have

EDIT I like Dimarizo

Yeah, I really like the sound of the 85 in the bridge. I switched around the pickups in my SG like that and like the sound it gives me better than before. That being said, I like the 81 in my EC-1000 better than an 85 in it for some reason, not really sure why haha. I love the 60 though, really nice sounding neck pickup, nice cleans.

I've had tube amps for a while now, but never actually had any go down on me

maybe you're not saying the right things? an amp likes to know you care.

Sweet. Now I've just gotta save up $2-300. I dunno what it'll cost to have it painted, I've never once worked on a guitar myself other than changing strings. Oh well, birthday and X-mas coming up. Not an issue.

Thanks guys.

I use a dual Emg 89 setup. It's the best sounding and most versatile pickup set I've ever used. I'm currently in the process of retrofitting this setup to most of my H-H guitars. It literally kicked my Bareknuckle Mules to the curb.
