This weeks Australian Idol is about songs from the year of birth from the performer.
Don't ask why I'm watching it.
Anyway, I was born i '92 so I'd probably do Layla by Clapton.
Just search Wikipedia for "19__ in music" and go to, say, "Top Hits on Record"
Post away.

Well it's a hell of a lot better than what they are singing, even if I butchered it, it would have been better than that 'rendition' of Billie Jean. God damn that sucked.

I would totally do Like a Prayer, except I would do the Rufio version, which is clearly the best cover in history.

1988......One - Metallica

That being said, 1988 was a very dry year for good music. The 90's had everything that was good, period.

Yeah, the Death Metal boom was forking incredible. One of the reason I love Florida, of course the bands across the pond were amazing too.

Nothing Else Matters by Metallica, Jeremy by Pearl Jam or something else by Nirvana...

Hello my fellow 91'er.

Probably something by Pearl Jam, either "Even Flow" or "Alive". Otherwise "Jesus Christ Pose" by Soundgarden, "Shiny Happy People" by REM or "Son of a Bitch" by Kyuss.

I'm actually 92. But it's close. Good choices by the way.

Goddammit! None of the artist I like released an album in 1989!

Cowboys From Hell's from 1990, and so is Season is the Abyss.

South of Heaven and ...And Justice From All are both from 1988 so I am officially trapped.

the amazing thing is Clapton wrote Layla in the early 70's, and then when he did his unplugged show it become a single again- pretty nice.

great song too
