im going with three mainly coz my main band is three atm.

i do guitar + vox

then theres the bassist + vox

and our drummer + screaming if neccesary

XD

although i do prefer 4. i find the less people, the less confrontation, and more practice. it just all works.
#13
I would go between 3 and like 6+
you could have a singer/guitar, bass and drums like Alkaline Trio and Green Day
or you could do a singer, 2 guitars, a bass, drums, and keyboard.
or you could have 2 singers, one who just sings and the other back up and guitar along with the 2 other guitarists.
it would depend on what you wanted to do with the band.

Five.
Drummer, bassist, lead singer, and two guitarists.

Love your avatar, Coheed for life

If someone could sing and play rhythm, then probably 4, but in my band i would want the rhythm to be able to play technical stuff as well, so it would be safe to say 2 guitarists and 1 lead vocals(and an obvious bassist and drummer).

I'm in a band with 3 people, and another one with 5. I'd have 6 though. Guitar, Bass, Vocals, Drums, Violin/Keys.

Ideally:

Bass/vocals/keyboards
Guitar/vocals/keyboards
Drums/vocals

The sonic possibilities are huge.

My band only has three, a vocalist, a drummer, and a guitar player. We might try to find a bass player though
Quote by Joshrocker48
I like you, as a fellow vocalist I like that you are here on UG and admit to not being a guitarist.
Bravo.

Definitely four, I even have a bias for preferring a band with four members:
Guitarist/Singer
Lead Guitarist
Bassist
Drummer
It's probably because I'm into thrash, but I think having a seperate singer automatically cuts down on the instrumentation - making solos shorter etc, because the singer has nothing to do. 4 FTW
